Posted by B.I.G at 05:23Gavin Pfister is in contact with a production company who will soon be filming a tv commercial where they need a very competent free runner/traceur to basically act out what is necessary. They need as many applicants as possible and it doesn't matter where they are from just as long as they are good. One person will be selected and can expect between R2500 - R4000 a day plus future royalties. Shooting takes place over about 2 days.
If you are interested, contact Gavin Pfister as soon as possible.

Hey guys, it's been sometime since we made a shout out to everyone.
How are you all doing? Me? Just busy moving to a new flat here in the uk and trying to get a few things off the ground… but we manage one step at a time. ;-)
In my news, I have just got back from this year's White Air Extreme Sports Festival which is held on the isle of wight every year. For those of you who do not know where that is, then check this map out: Map of Isle of Wight And for the official event website, you can check out www.whiteair.co.uk (a whole bunch of pictures are up there which I will be loading up on pksa when I get the chance)
We ran basic workshops which consisted of brief history and description of Parkour, warms ups, basic fundamentals and then a session on the parkour park. This year we had speacialised platforming designed especially for use in training environments, which was a real treat. Merrell shoes came onboard to help out with the sponsoring of 2 pairs of shoes for a competition where we drew out random entries of people who got the question right. This year the question was: Which team was both David Belle and Sebastien Foucan part of in the early years of Parkour's development?
I have also just launched a small mobile website which is intended for when you need to check out a few basic tutorials while out on a run, or have taken a parkour related photo or video on your phone and you want to upload it before actually getting anywhere near a computer. Just type in parkour.mobi on your phone's internet browser, and remember to bookmark it because updates will be happening. If you have any suggestions or want to get involved with this project and are able to offer skills in the mobile phone department, then get in touch by sending us a mail: info@parkourmobi.co.uk
The Parkour Journeys DVD is just about ready for release and I have had an update from the executive producer to say that things are shaping up nicely. Loads of fresh footage to keep anyone entertained. Keep your eyes out on the Parkour Journeys DVD website
I recently bought the District 13(French: Banlieue 13) dvd. For those of you unaware of what this movie is … shame on you! :-) It features David Belle, founder of Parkour, in action against a drug mafia and the footage is quite simply spectacular! There is one scene right in the beginning which sees David running away from a bunch of guys out to capture him. It gives you such a rush of adrenaline and is so explosive, especially with it ending in David clearing the infamous Manpower gap in slow motion… ;-)
The film is originally in French, however the English released version has a bunch of really bad voiceovers. I prefer to just listen to the french and read subtitles. The dvd also has a bunch of extras in there. A few of which are done by UF and other features have David talking about Parkour and the actors talking about how they did certain moves in the films also a few "behind the scenes" look. Worth the buy and if you are keen then book yours from HERE
That's it from me for the moment, I hope you are all doing well and remember to keep in touch via our Forums so we can hear your news.
